CPDC has long been concerning about science education and expect to cultivate outstanding young talents of chemistry for the country. Through learning about the possible future working environment by actual visit, understanding the business model and exploring the factory implementation process, the students could combine the knowledge from schools with industry practice to accelerate the understandings of future development of the chemical industry.

CPDC highly valued the plant visit every year. In addition to mobilizing a lot of colleagues, the director of the Tou-Fen Plant, Mr. Cheng, met the students in person. Due to the large number of visitors, CPDC arranged two visits in the morning and afternoon respectively, and manager Zhu and Mr. Zhong were responsible for lecturing. Through lively and interactive speeches, students understood that the related products produced through petrochemical raw materials are inseparable from human life. CPDC’s colleagues demonstrated how to wear safety protective clothing and invited the students to experience it by themselves, creating extremely active interaction.

After the speech, Manager Zhu led the students to visit the factory and guided. The students were all looking forward to seeing the actual operations of the chemical plant. The students listened carefully to the introductions all along the way and asked a lot of questions about processes and work safety. Manager Zhu also answered questions from the participants in detail. In the exchange of opinions section, director Cheng and manager Chen shared their career experiences. The students asked many questions about the future school study and the status of the chemical industry. Director Cheng and manager Chen gave valuable advices to the students and expected the students to work hard. The visit was successfully completed with the full harvest of the participants.

CPDC has been sponsoring this event for five consecutive years since 2014. CPDC expected the young students could understand the actual operations of the factory and  hoped to stimulate more high school students' interest in chemical engineering and to cultivate Taiwan's chemical talents. CPDC will continue to promote industry-university cooperation in the future, sponsor factory visits and provide internship opportunities at chemical plants so that young students can have better understandings before they join the chemical industry in the future. We also welcome students to join CPDC after graduation.
