In the second quarter of 2018, CPDC’s charity event  “sending love to the rural areas”, more than a dozen volunteers led the teachers and students from two small township to Annan District of Tainan City for the whole day ecological journey on June 5th.

The Chonghe Elementary School in Guanmiao District and the Beijiao Elementary School in Nanhua District were invited to join the charity event. Due to remoteness and population outflow, more than half of the children are from intergenerational or economically disadvantaged families. CPDC said that it had handled several public welfare activities and communicated with the schools it has served. It found that the main demand from students in rural areas is not materials, but companionship. The school also hopes that the children can learn the experiences from outdoor events, which are different from school. These experiences made CPDC adhere to the concept of “sending love to the rural areas”. CPDC hopes that through "care and companionship", it will bring another emotional connection to the children in the rural area. This time CPDC arranged more than a dozen volunteers to participate and planned a series of events, bringing special memories to these of rural children.

CPDC’s volunteer team accompanies through whole process, plans interesting event to have fun with students from rural areas
CPDC arranged the event for the teachers and students of the two schools to visit the former Taiwan Alkaline Anshun Plant’s Ecological Park, which was rarely opened to the public. Guided by volunteers, school children could understand the relevant history and environmental conservation of ecological parks. Through taking the 1314 charity train, the students visited the "painted fences" completed by other small townships in December last year as well as Luanmen Tianhou Temple and learned more about the humanities and customs of Annan District. CPDC also cooperated with "Taijiang National Park" to arrange a half day wetland adventure experience course for the children. Through the games, observations, role-playing and discussion, children understood the basic knowledge of wetlands and the crises and challenges that wetlands is facing. Moreover, the director of the Nanxun Storyteller Association, also known as the "Sister Story", told the children about the stories of the ocean and the natural environment. CPDC also prepared McDonald's for children as lunch, and hoped the children had a good time and fun.

The president of Chonghe Elementary School said: "Thank you for the gift from CPDC, offering the children a chance to get close to nature and love environmental protection.” The guide teachers of Taijiang National Park also said: " As children live in the mountains, the animals and plants they saw before are not the same as the ones in the coast. Therefore, today's courses also enrich their knowledge." The children gave feedbacks: "I want to flaunt seeing the mangroves for the first time in front of my grandfather. What surprised me more is that the shape of the mangrove leaf is just as the same as of McDonald's. It's so cool! I will remember this day forever. " CPDC’s volunteers felt very satisfied with the sharing of the activities from the teachers and the children's pure smile and words.
