Sending love to rural area with 156 school children completes graffiti painting. Iron fences turns into a large three-dimensional story book.
Stopped by the newly painted fence, the grandmother said happily to the little granddaughter: "Look, this is Mazu, it is so vivid..." Ah! That is Zheng Chenggong. In ancient times, he led the troops on this landing to attack the Dutch! " According to the reaction of the local residents to the fence painting, the graffiti teacher, who was still stained with many oil paints, showed excitement and shared with us the feelings of participating in the public welfare painting during this time.

CPDC’s “Send Love to the Rural areas” charity train went to Annan District in Tainan in the fourth quarter of 2017. In order to give school children from rural areas a chance to experience street graffiti and understand the art of public space, CPDC specially invited the public space artist Lumi, who is good at painting teaching, to teach graffiti in the "1314 Anshun Love Neighborhood Painting" event. The graffiti teaching incorporated local humanities and features, Taijiang ecology, scenery, religious culture and other customs to design the theme of painting. During the week, Lumi and CPDC volunteers led a total of 156 schoolchildren from five schools completed a giant iron painting of 67 meters on the outside of the dormitory area of the former Taiwan Alkaline Anshun Plant.

Iron sheet becomes canvas. Giant story book shows up at fence next to the dormitory area of former Taiwan Alkaline Anshun Plant.
The children who participated in the graffiti painting for the first time said that the painting on the iron sheet was completely different from holding painting brushes in a classroom, and it was very interesting to spray on such a large canvas and paint a variety of beautiful patterns. They felt like that they had completed a large three-dimensional story book.

“This is what we want to do. Bringing color into the community is like bringing infinite hope. It is not only for the local people to re-examine their hometown, to cherish their unique human history, but also to let the citizen of Tainan come to take photos and stop to know the area,”CPDC said.“ Each painted theme has profound meanings. In addition to the local religion Mazu, Zheng Chenggong’s landing, Luermen landscape, black-faced spoonbill, there was a theme "carp leaping dragon door" to encourage children to study hard and rise in the world. The last theme is a image concept of CPDC with the gesture CPDC. We hope to work together with the residents to work hard for the local society.

To host the painting event, CPDC convened many internal meetings and visited five schools in the rural area to explain the event. During the event, all participating teachers and students visited the former Taiwan Alkaline Anshun Plant’s Ecological Park which was rarely open to the public. Through the explanation and ecological tour, the students knew the past history of Anshun plant and the rich hydrological resources of Taijiang.

Integrate into community, CPDC and the local children complete the giant paintings, bringing color to the Xiangong and Luer area.
CPDC said that it took over the former Taiwan Alkaline Anshun Plant during the state-owned period. Based on corporate social responsibility after privatization, CPDC has spent 2.4 billion on Dioxin pollution remediation work. CPDC makes effort to communicate with neighbors. It has set up student scholarships and after-school tutoring subsidies in Xiangong and Zhenhai two elementary schools. All relevant public welfare activities are also often integrated into the concepts of community construction and local development. CPDC hopes to share the prosperity with the community and create a win-win situation.

Since 2013, CPDC has launched a series charity events named “send love to the rural areas” and has served more than 40 groups, which represented nearly 4,000 people. By doing so, CPDC has created the internal volunteer culture. The colleagues join the CSR activities sponsored by the company from north to south. In line with corporate social responsibility, CPDC will continue to care for the environmental education of the elementary schools and assist the disadvantaged students through ecological visits, course learning and material donations. In order to respond to the coming of the super-age society, CPDC will focus on the accompanying and caring for the disadvantaged elders, bringing the positive power to society.
